NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PLAYOFFS BRACKET
College of San Mateo is returning to the postseason for the fourth straight season.
On Sunday, CSM was announced as one of 24 teams to qualify for the upcoming 2026 Northern California Regional Playoffs. The Bulldogs will head to No. 3 overall-seed Modesto Junior College for a three-team, double-elimination tournament scheduled for May 1-3.
San Mateo, the No. 2 seed at the Modesto regional and No. 14 seed overall, will open the tourney at 11 a.m. on Friday when the Bulldogs take on No. 3/No. 22 Reedley College. The loser of the game would face top-seeded Modesto later in the day at 3 p.m. with the winner advancing to a game on Saturday.
Ticket prices for the 3C2A postseason event are $13 for general admission and $9 for senior citizens age 60 and over, veterans, and children under 12 years old. Tickets can be purchased online in advance at the MJC Tickets page.
The Bulldogs recently wrapped up a regular season with a third-place finish in a solid Coast Conference North Division with a 13-7 mark. CSM is 25-14 overall heading into the postseason and has won seven of its last 10 games.
Third-year head coach Riley Goulding has taken the Bulldogs to the playoffs in all three seasons leading the program.
Modesto captured a Big 8 Conference co-championship this season, ending tied with San Joaquin Delta College with a 17-7 record. The host Pirates, under the direction of head coach Alex Leach, take a 29-10 overall record into the postseason. MJC is back in the playoffs after a one-year absence.
Reedley enters the playoffs with a 20-20 overall record and finished tied for third in the Central Valley Conference at 12-12 under head coach Steve Pearse. The Tigers are making their fourth straight postseason appearance.
CSM has yet to face either team this season. Last year, the Bulldogs defeated Reedley in a three-game, opening-round playoff series to earn a spot in the Super Regionals.
Postseason play will continue on with the Super Regional round May 7-9 followed by the Regional Finals May 15-17. The top two teams from each region will then advance to the 3C2A State Championships at Great Park in Irvine on May 23-25.
