The 2025-26 College of San Mateo men's basketball season will now continue to the postseason. On Sunday, the Bulldogs were named the No. 19 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.
CSM is set to travel to No. 14-seed Contra Costa College for a first-round regional playoff game on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.
Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game at Contra Costa College in San Pablo are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.
San Mateo, under head coach Mike Marcial, wrapped up its regular season with a solid 17-11 overall record and finished fifth in the Coast Conference North Division at 5-9.
The Bulldogs return to the playoffs after a one-year absence and have qualified for the postseason in five of the last six seasons. Last year, the Bulldogs were edged in their opening-round game by a final score of 95-94 at Santa Rosa Junior College.
Contra Costa enters the postseason with a 16-12 overall record and finished tied for second place in the Bay Valley Conference at 10-6. San Mateo and Contra Costa will be meeting for the second time this season. On Dec. 19, the Bulldogs defeated the Comets by a final score of 65-54 at the San Joaquin Delta College tournament.
The winner of Wednesday's match up will move on to a second-round game at No. 3 West Valley College (22-6) on Saturday. Three wins are needed by the Bulldogs to advance to the 3C2A State Championships on March 13-15 at College of the Sequoias in Visalia.
