CSM will take a 22-5 overall record into Tuesday's playoff match and have won 14 straight matches, all by 3-0 sweeps. The Bulldogs haven't lost since dropping a pair of matches to No. 1 state-ranked Feather River College and No. 5 Taft College to close out the month of September.
CSM is looking to return to the state championships after a two-year absence. In 2022, the Bulldogs made their first-ever state tournament appearance and advanced to the semifinals.
No. 11 Sacramento City enters the postseason with a 23-9 overall record and finished second in the Big 8 Conference at 13-3. The Panthers have won four straight matches and went 9-1 over their last 10 to close out the regular season.
Tuesday will mark the first meeting of the season between the two squads. The winner of the contest will advance to a third-round match on Nov. 29. Two wins are needed by the Bulldogs to advance to the 2025 3C2A State Championships on Dec. 5-7 at Folsom Lake College in Folsom
