Dorn captures gold for CSM women, Bulldog men fifth at Pat Ryan Invitational
SANTA ROSA – Another race, another win for College of San Mateo's Ericka Dorn.
The sophomore standout won her third gold medal in four races this season to lead the Bulldog women at the Pat Ryan Cross Country Invitational on Friday. The event, hosted by Santa Rosa Junior College, was held at Spring Lake Regional Park in Santa Rosa.
Dorn cleared the 5,000-meters Spring Lake course with a time of 17:58.76 to take first place. It was her fastest time of the season in the 5K event.
Teammates Deia Kerseg-Foreman and Lina Cruz Parada joined Dorn in the top-10 at Friday's race. Kerseg-Foreman ran 19:03.24 for third place and Parada was sixth with her time of 19:30.33.
CSM had just three women competing and did not receive a team score.
The Bulldog men had a full squad in action on earned 90 points to finish in fifth place at the Pat Ryan Cross Country Invitational on Friday.
San Mateo was led by Colin Williams and his 10th place showing. He cleared the four-mile Spring Lake course with a time of 22:19.71. Williams was joined in the top-20 by teammates Nathan Loof in 14th place (22:36.42) and Mariano Beas in 20th (23:05.62).
Also for the Bulldogs, Tai Nagakawa was 27th at 23:05.62, Cassius Greene took 32nd with his time of 24:11.54, and Felix Venancio finished 39th, clocking in at 25:04.54.
The CSM cross country teams return to action on Oct. 29 when they will compete at the Coast Conference Championships at Toro Park in Salinas.
