Bulldogs Push Winning Streak to Five Games with 68-46 rout of Porterville
SAN MATEO – The College of San Mateo men's basketball team won its fifth straight game, a 68-46 non-conference victory over visiting Porterville College on Tuesday night.
San Mateo grabbed control early, building a 35-27 halftime advantage behind efficient shooting and strong interior play. The Bulldogs then turned up the defensive pressure in the second half, limiting Porterville to just 19 points on their way to the 22-point victory.
Ben Liang led the Bulldogs with a game-high 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, adding five rebounds in the win. Wilson Tran came off the bench to provide a major boost, finishing with 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Keshawn Johnson anchored the paint with a team-leading 11 rebounds to go along with eight points, while Jaden McClane contributed six points, five rebounds and three blocks. DaMarcus Collins scored seven points and recorded two steals, and Aleccio Blythe chipped in six points in reserve minutes.
CSM improved to 7-1 overall with the win. The Bulldogs are back in action on Dec. 16 when they host Monterey Peninsula College in a Coast Conference interdivision game.
