CSM Softball Caps Historic 2026 Season with State Tournament Semifinal Run
College of San Mateo's softball team concluded another historic season this weekend with a semifinal appearance at the 2026 3C2A Softball State Championship tournament, capping off one of the most dominant years in California community college softball.
The Bulldogs entered the postseason as the No. 1 seed in the Northern California Regional Playoffs after finishing the regular season with a 37-1 overall record, a 13-1 Coast Conference record, and the No. 1 ranking in the state coaches poll throughout the season.
This spring also marked a major milestone for Head Coach Nicole Quigley-Borg, who earned her 700th career victory in March while continuing one of the most successful eras in CSM Athletics history. Under Quigley-Borg's leadership, the Bulldogs secured their 11th Coast Conference championship in the past 13 seasons.
"We are incredibly proud of this team and everything they accomplished this season," said Quigley-Borg. "Their willingness to trust the process and make a commitment to excellence is what CSM softball is all about. It is our standard and they represented College of San Mateo with tremendous pride both on and off the field."
The Bulldogs also earned several of the National, State, and Coast Conference's top individual honors:

Throughout the 2026 campaign, the Bulldogs remained the top-ranked team in the state while extending a remarkable winning streak that reached 48 consecutive games earlier this spring. The program also continued to receive national recognition as one of California's premier community college softball programs.
The College of San Mateo community congratulates Coach Quigley-Borg, the coaching staff, the Kinesiology, Athletics, and Dance Division, and all of the Bulldogs' scholar-athletes on an extraordinary season in which they represented the college with excellence, leadership, perseverance, and Bulldog pride.
